The Story Behind My Transformation

As my baby turned one year old, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and relief. We'd made it through the first year, which is no small task. I had nurtured her and helped her grow from a tiny zygote to a bouncing, chubby cherub of a baby. I was proud of this accomplishment and I felt like it was time to do something for me...



I wasn't unhappy with my body. In fact, I was more grateful and appreciative of it than ever. It had miraculously spent the past three years growing and feeding my two beautiful girls. Talk about amazing! I wanted to repay it for the hard work it had done and prime it for the busyness of mommyhood. 

I'd always been a pretty active person. However, since having children, I struggled finding the time to exercise. And while I thought I knew it all about healthy eating, I had a lot of room to grow. I wasn't overweight, but I wanted to tone up and have more energy. 

My friend, Laura, had been posting about her fitness journey on Facebook and I'd always been intrigued. She looked amazing and was always upbeat and somehow managed to squeeze it in with two little boys. And she was eating real food! Food that looked good. 

My husband initially objected to me doing a Challenge Group. We already owned a jogging stroller, numerous exercise DVD's and free weights. We didn't need to buy anything, he argued (I'll admit it wasn't uncommon for me to start an exercise program with great intentions and then fizzle out after a week or so). But I knew I had tried those things and wasn't able to stay motivated. They weren't working for me.

Luckily, I was able to convince him that the group support would make this time different. 
I messaged my Coach, Laura, and she helped me pick out a program and meal program specific to my goals. 

I got my program in the mail a few days later, and took some time to read the meal plan and prep food. I was hesistant and unsure that it would work, but nevertheless jumped into it full force on September 1, 2015. 

Within a week, I started noticing changes in my body. My arms were looking a little more toned. I followed the meal plan and workouts to a "T" and pretty soon three weeks had gone by. My Coach and Challenge group were right there by my side giving me the support I needed.

And I was BLOWN AWAY by my results.




Yes, this was after only three weeks!

Not only did I have a great physical transformation, I had experienced so much internal growth. I was SO DARN PROUD of myself for sticking with the program, something I'd never done before. I felt more confident, energized and capable of anything. I loved the clean eating and superfoods shakes. I credit Shakeology for helping me with sugar cravings and my afternoon energy slumps. The experience was life changing!

I fell in love with the Challenge Group atmosphere and wanted to keep going! I signed up to be a Coach so I could help other people reach their fitness goals the way my coach helped me. 

It's been so amazing to see how this journey has not only affected me; it's affecting the people I love in a positive way. My husband has lost 20 pounds and lowered his cholesterol! My girls are eating healthier than ever. Clean eating and daily exercise are now the new norm in our house and I love the example we are setting for our children. 

I'm still on my fitness journey and plan to continue this lifestyle indefinitely as a Coach. I'm now on a mission to inspire and motivate other people who want to improve their health and fitness! You're welcome to join me at any point!
